Stress
The pressures
of everyday modern life can become overwhelming at times.
It can often seem that at the very times when we are facing difficult
situations that several other areas of our lives also cause us problems.
Pressure at work may mean we have less time to give to relationships at
home or to spend time keeping healthy. The need to bring in money to fend
for self and others may add to the need to work harder.
Relationships
at work may be strained by pressure to meet targets, difficult managers,
difficult staff. Even good events may add to the stress, moving
house, getting married, new relationships, a new job.
We
all have different reactions to stress which can be affected by our personality
and by previous events in our lives that encourage us to view ourselves
and events in different ways. Our reactions are also affected by the way
we manage our lives and how we view change.
